Using Instagram and Facebook as Recruitment Tools

We’ll start off this blog post with a very special announcement: SFS has a new Instagram account. You can follow us @sfsfdm.

Social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram are a good for a whole lot more than making your friends jealous about your latest vacation. They’re also a highly effective way to get the word out about self-employment opportunities, particularly in areas like retail merchandising and customer service.

Platforms like Instagram and its parent company, Facebook, have become powerful job recruitment tools, and their power over the hiring process is only growing. In fact, it’s not hard to envision a future where most available working positions are recruited and obtained through social media. Let’s take a look at the numbers.

Facebook and Instagram are Influencing Talent Acquisition

Here are some of the latest metrics from SociallyRecruited.com, the online recruitment market experts.

  • 79% of job seekers use social media in their job search.
  • 70% of hiring companies say they’ve successfully hired with social media.
  • 73% of millennials found work through a social media site.

Just like how job boards like Craigslist and Monster.com replaced the ubiquitous Sunday Classifieds, social media is positioning itself as the new gateway for opportunities in retail merchandising and beyond.

What’s Happening @sfsfdm

It’s a fantastic follow for people interested in all kinds of self-employment opportunities.

For example, we list our top locations of the week with our latest projects, and detail all the projects currently available. You can find the link on our Instagram feed, or apply directly at: https://careers-fdmfieldservices.icims.com/jobs/

Other early highlights of our SFS page include this shoutout to some of our hardest-working reps, newly open positions and some great holiday posts too.
